The we could get rid of MLGW and put some company with a demonstrated commitment to green energy to put some alternative energy stuff on all civic bldgs since they are the biggest tick on our butts not paying their bills.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-49287754153008081762008-12-25T00:29:00.000-06:002008-12-25T00:29:00.000-06:00Memphis will not survive another three years of wa...Memphis will not survive another three years of waiting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-59356818903695006112008-12-23T10:44:00.000-06:002008-12-23T10:44:00.000-06:00It wouldn't hurt to have some coherent leadership ...It wouldn't hurt to have some coherent leadership from the Mayor as well. Nashville had Bredesan to get people pulling the right way. We've got Willie emerging from his top-floor office every now and again, issuing some blanket statement, crazy idea or random attack. He's tired, but can't seem to let go of the position. I think we have to hold on for three more years and hope for a new mayor who can provide some actual leadership for all Memphians.
For my part, I will try to complain less, actively confront people who dog the city in general ways, and try to impact my neighborhood as best I can.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09510965557160420897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-82187846842499287172008-12-23T05:11:00.000-06:002008-12-23T05:11:00.000-06:00I do not want to know more about Memphis, but to li...I do not want to know more about Memphis, but to live joyfully the present moment by thinking past n future.Anyway my new resolution is to make all the people around me happy and pray for all the people around the world for their absolute Happiness and Peace.

cheers!!
Gifts to chennai|Gifts to Bangalore|Gifts to IndiaManifestationhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03994857476488888680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-73984444477515986782008-12-22T10:13:00.000-06:002008-12-22T10:13:00.000-06:00After reading this article, if Memphis were a pers...After reading this article, if Memphis were a person, he would find a cheap motel and hang himself in the shower.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-59381350022810826952008-12-22T00:00:00.000-06:002008-12-22T00:00:00.000-06:00FINALLY, admitting the brutally honest truth. That...FINALLY, admitting the brutally honest truth.
That shallow Memphians like to focus on image over substance.
I guess it doesn't matter who said it first.
Yes we like to say we're nice and community driven and hospitality and it's all a bunch of BS. We suck as a group AND as individuals, not because we can't do better but because we WON'T do better. From top to bottom a city full of people trying so hard not to be suckers that they are THE BIGGEST SUCKERS OF ALL.
We got the booby prize.
We're so sure we already know what's going on. It's an extension of the racist heart here. Black and White racism.
You got lucky when you got Dr Cash, you already have a start, but, the more we qualify "how we will help who we will help" using the same pat formulas that have always been used here to determine "who's OK to work with" ( read: who's in on the scam), you'll continue to miss the boat till there is NO MEMPHIS, which is coming soon.
It's all an effort to make "somebody from Memphis" be at the helm.
Memphis has demonstrated that it has NO QUALIFIED PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING other than screwing up. So WE should look elsewhere, or, stop trying to duck responsibility and work on every good plan designed to succeed that pops up, ESPECIALLY if we don't like it, no matter who came up with it. Beg if we have to.
Embrace all the bad news no matter how bad it is, because it's good news, at least we know where we actually stand instead of believing our own hype.
My GOD! How long can Memphis wallow in a pool of fecies and blame everyone else, GOOD POST maybe someone will hear you and Get their butts to work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-79985526483609170592008-12-21T18:59:00.000-06:002008-12-21T18:59:00.000-06:00In 1968, when TIME Magazine called Memphis a "Sout...In 1968, when TIME Magazine called Memphis a "Southern backwater," and a "decaying Mississippi River town," they may have been right.

In any case, we have never gotten over it.bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14730299223683907051noreply@blogger.com
