Beware of some on the County Commission who are connected to the old guard and supporting totally unsuitable and unqualified city coucil candidates.

City voters need to pay attention in this election and really clean out the house and only elect qualifed candidates who will do what is in the best interests of all people. There are too many puppets in office and more hoping to be elected.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-77842403974538886552007-08-30T14:23:00.000-05:002007-08-30T14:23:00.000-05:00Sidney Chism is an old political hack and before h...Sidney Chism is an old political hack and before his election was known in political circles as very racially oriented and as a control freak.

He is a political boss and known primarily as the power behind Willie Herenton's elections. He was also Democratic Chair at one time but had to resign after ruining the Party after only a year.

Most of his allies are defeated in elections. In fact, Sidney himself won only because of the greed of his would be opponent, Cleo Kirk, who thought he could defy term limits but was thrown off the ballot, insuring Sidney of election.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-82612623068871585242007-08-29T19:14:00.000-05:002007-08-29T19:14:00.000-05:00lxmDear hkay, hang in there. Still, this hurts. Lost in all of the political spin moves and jump kicks that the commission performs is the future of the children. It is obvious that the commission refuses to so to speak "keep the main thing the main thing", but it bears repeating. As a young person just starting to see the depth of the injustice and brokeness in Memphis, I ask: What can be done?Harveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16251323652168004578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-20708244322932563802007-08-29T11:24:00.000-05:002007-08-29T11:24:00.000-05:00I can only look forward to leaving this city somet...I can only look forward to leaving this city sometime in the near future. It's all a zero sum game here, you win means I lose.

I can only look forward to leaving this city sometime in the near future.
