Critical thinking and creative problem-solving is the key to changing our community and the world.

We work with people who are interested in making a difference. Our local Memphis company at www.memphisinspections.com offers energy audits to help people identify and pinpoint areas where their homes or businesses can be more energy efficient by using thermal digital imaging photography. It takes what looks like an MRI of windows, doors, electrical panels, ductwork, HVAC units, etc. and analyzes the information.

You are also right about the problems of the No Child Left Behind act passed in 2001. It has changed teachers from teaching curriculum to teaching how to take a standardized test. We have taken critical core values out of the schools. There is a Joint Organizational Statement (http://www.edaccountability.org/about/statement.php) that recommends changes to the No Child Left Behind Act. The statement addresses key components of the act, including progress measurement, capacity building, assessments, sanctions and funding.

Good Luck!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-69202472461375980392007-12-06T16:16:00.000-06:002007-12-06T16:16:00.000-06:00Joe Royer from Outdoors Inc. and John Ruskey from ...Joe Royer from Outdoors Inc. and John Ruskey from Clarksdale, MS both kayak/canoe on the MS River. This is a potentially HUGE negative for Memphis if MS prevails. Here we have an enormous asset that other cities would KILL for (think Atlanta right now) and this lawsuit isn't even registering on the public radar or that of the media or political sphere, it seems. If we are forced to get water from the Mississippi River, it would be much more costly and much more contaminated than the Memphis Sands.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-50119116183458269592007-12-06T11:17:00.000-06:002007-12-06T11:17:00.000-06:00In regards to kayaking and canoeing the river and ...In regards to kayaking and canoeing the river and harbor...how safe is this? where should this be done? I think someone with an understanding of what is possible and what should be avoided needs to make a public/vocal push to educate the community because I figure a lot of people would be interested. They simply don't know what is possible and no one has told them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12509286.post-28589245042996355222007-12-06T10:34:00.000-06:002007-12-06T10:34:00.000-06:00I know, we need a Plan.I know, we need a Plan.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
