Memo To News Editor

Someone emails with this question:

How come the stun gun incident involving 2 middle school students in the County Schools attacking another student and the brawl across the street from Houston High School don't get reported in the press?

If only it had been Memphis City Schools.

That is exactly why I don't support the mainstream media. I find blogs to be more informative than the Commercial Appeal and the news channels.

Anybody who depends on blogs for news shouldn't be allowed to vote. This one...is written by somebody with a specific point of view. There's nobody to double check or triple check information. Even though this blog is written by a former reporter, I'd also contend that he's a FORMER reporter who has made his living off the taxpayer dime for most of his life. I'm not picking on him. It's just that blogs are what they are...interesting little gossip sheets that simply express the OPINIONS of the author. Anyone with any intelligence needs to read the CA, watch the newschannels, listen to radio talk shows (Black and White), read news magazines...read websites...AND THEN read blogs.
I think the author would agree, even with his often anti-establishment media opinions.

Cognitive dissonance.

Where can I get info on those incidents? Ineed them for ammo (what a pun!) in a discussion I'm having with some friends about city v. county.

Thanks!
