We are often blind to our own environment because of our assumptions, framed by media, insular thinking and our own prejudices. Smart City Consulting's blog – named one of the most intriguing in the U.S. by Pew Partnership for Civic Change – hopes to show how Memphis really is and could be through alternative questions, fresh approaches and new ideas. We hope to open your eyes - and your ears - to a new way of thinking about Memphis. Send ideas and emails to tjones@smartcityconsulting.com.

I can see this as good for Mud Island, a badly needed recreational opportunity for our youth, and a good source of revenue and recognition for Memphis and especially downtown.
With that said, there is one person who really needs to be convinced. Has Mayor Wharton expressed an opinion on the subject? Do any of y'all have a good relationship with A C?
Support of the skate park on Mud Island is in Mayor Wharton's platform, we're happy to say.
PS: It can be found at www.acwharton.com
Thankss for a great read
